Knife ( Puukko in Finnish dialect ) is one of the most important symbols in Finnish culture, as it was one of the most essential tools, served as cutlery, and they were used as means of self-defense or war. Puukko is part of Finnish national character, there is plenty of skilled knife-smiths in Finland, knives are collected and the best knife-smiths have competitions.
This specimen is a handcrafted unique item, the blade has no engraving, rest of the design is made by unknown author who uses signature AL. The handle of knife is made of birchbark and bone, scabbard is black leather.
Signature AL is traditional inset, made of thin metal strip.
